This year’s theme, #BreakingTheBias knocks on the importance of making active efforts to promote gender equality and a community that embraces diversity, equity, and inclusivity. This is a sentiment that OurPass passionately echoes, as the organization ensures that such principles are practiced both internally and externally. Not only does OurPass ensure that it intentionally employs qualified women in its workforce, but we also ensure that we empower our female merchants across the board.
In celebration of IWD, we shall be launching a web series, targeted at showcasing the stories of female entrepreneurs in different sectors of the e-commerce industry in Nigeria. This series aims to showcase and promote female entrepreneurs, as well as to encourage more women to start their enterprises. The docu-series would be exploring many of the universal struggles working women face i.e self-sabotage, workaholism, sexism, and balancing work and family life.
The first installment of the docu-series is scheduled to drop on the 15th of March 2022, and subsequently, other episodes would be published every Tuesday in March. The series would explore the stories of Zainab, the founder of Mint eyewear; Aisha Ife, the founder of littartbyai, and Peace Obinani, the Product Marketing Manager of Piggyvest.
In a show of support for women-led businesses, OurPass is shedding a spotlight on standout women changing the game in the e-commerce industry, their stories, and their experiences. These discussions are crucial in encouraging other women entrepreneurs.
